The comments have been carefully considered and the draft VDS has been amended to take account of the issues arising from the public consultation.
The revised VDS will now be considered for adoption as a Supplementary Planning Document by Winchester City Council at the Cabinet Member Built Environment Decision Day meeting on 7th February 2022.

Overview
A draft Village Design Statement (VDS) has been produced by the local community for the area of Colden Common Parish, to supersede the current VDS which dates from 2012. The VDS will provide design guidance for development within the Parish, highlighting the distinctive characteristics of the area.
The VDS is not intended to apply within the parts of the Parish of Colden Common that lie within the South Downs National Park.
Following the consideration of responses received on the draft, the VDS will be finalised for adoption by WCC as a Supplementary Planning Document. Once adopted by WCC, the VDS will supplement the Winchester District Local Plan.
