Overview

We are planning to create a passive wetland by diverting water from, and returning water to, a stream in Micheldever.  Water will be filtered as it flows through the wetland removing nitrogen (nitrates).  This will generate 'nitrates credits' for affordable housing planning applications, which are now required.

The new wetland will improve the appearance of this meadow and protect it from development.  Biodiversity will increase on the site because new wildlife habitats will be created.  The flood risk will also be reduced following this proposed work.
