Controlled Parking Zone consultation
Overview
On-street parking is currently restricted by means of a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ). Most of the restrictions within the zone operate from Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm.
At present, due to the lack of parking restrictions on-street on Sundays, there are concerns that inappropriate, or inconsiderate parking occurs in some areas (i.e residents are not able to park in permit bays on Sundays). Therefore, we are considering whether to include Sundays in the same way that we operate parking on the other days of the week.
The existing Winchester City Controlled Parking Zone area is shown below:
Why your views matter
We would like to know your views, primarily on changing the current on-street parking restrictions to make them operational 7 days a week, to include Sundays. We would like to make it clear that this is an exercise to gauge opinion on some suggested potential changes and if it is subsequently decided to propose any formal changes then these would be subject to a formal consultation.
What happens next
Following receipt of your responses, we will analyse the results and present the findings to Councillors for review. If we subsequently decided to propose any formal changes based on the feedback we receive then these changes will be subject to formal consultation.
